Do you like short horror? (We hope you do or otherwise, why’re you here?!) Do you like reading it? Writing it? If you answered ‘YES’ to any of these questions, then this is for YOU.
SuperfreakMedia is excited to announce that we will be producing a second season of CAMPFIRE CHRONICLES!
Another Season means another batch of SIX SPOOKY STORIES being told around the campfire that will be available where all good podcasts are found and of course over on our YouTube Channel this coming Autumn…And with the announcement of a second series, that means… WE ARE LOOKING FOR WRITERS!
That’s right! We are hosting our very own WRITING COMPETITION to find the next collection of terrifying tales for our spooky storyteller to narrate. So if you think your story has that killer instinct that we’re after, then let us read it giving you a shot at having it produced in an episode of Season 2!
CAMPFIRE CHRONICLES: SEASON ONE
If you missed Season One of CAMPFIRE CHRONICLES we encourage you to give the stories a listen (above) so that you can prepare your story to fit in with the tone of what we’re going for with each series. Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark? were really big inspirations for us conceptualising the initial Season so we’d definitely recommend checking both series’ out - even if it’s just for the good ole 90’s nostalgia!
Here’s where you come in:
So, like we said, we’re looking for writers. If you don’t have a story ready, don’t worry, there’s still time! The submission deadline is 23:59 on Sunday 31st March 2024!
What’s more, each writer may submit up to TWO STORIES. That’s right… TWO! That gives you two chances to have your work produced by us at SuperfreakMedia! However we will only look to produce one story, per writer, should you be successful with your entry.
Criteria for submissions:
Open to anyone, globally, over the age of 18.
Your writing must be new, unpublished, unproduced work and written by YOU.
Your story must be of the Horror genre, but open to any sub-genre within that.
Entries must be submitted in .DOC format (not .PDF).
Submissions must be no longer than [15] pages in length, with 12pt Arial font size and 1.5 spacing.
Please include a short synopsis of no more than 100 words with the story/stories you submit.

You must label the SUBJECT LINE as “CC Season 2”
Terms & Conditions - Unfortunately this is an unpaid opportunity and SuperfreakMedia will not retain the exclusive rights to your creation but will look to record it and publish it in an audio format in the fall of 2024 as part of season 2 of the Campfire Chronicles Series.
